AFT/PFT TEACHER LEADERS PROGRAM

ATTENTION

Seeking Teachers for the

AFT/PFT TEACHER LEADERS PROGRAM

At an incredibly increasing rate, each media outlet is reporting on issues concerning students, teaching and learning.  How often have you asked or said to your colleagues, "Why don't they just ask a real teacher about (you fill in the blank)?"  The Teacher Leaders Program is a union sponsored program designed to help prepare YOU to be that classroom teacher, advocating for and facilitating discussions about policies and issues that affect our profession both here in Florida and nationally.

We are seeking teachers interested in conducting research and collaborating with colleagues across the city and nation on:

  • Increasing an understanding of the major challenges facing the teaching profession and what to do about them
  • Improving leadership skills
  • Representing our profession as spokespersons and/or presenters
  • Becoming members of an influential and supportive network of educators who advocate for improved outcomes for all students and teachers

The program information session will take place at:

The Putnam Federation of Teachers/United Office

3200 St. Johns Ave

Palatka, FL 32177

August 13, 2018

5:30PM

As this is a grant funded program, a stipend only will be awarded after successful completion of the program.  Applications and additional information will be available after the information session is held.
